What students are seeing in the classroom

Hello everyone! I've FINALLY updated the new website! I'm hoping now to be a little more consistent with making posts about what ill be happening in the art room! I've been changing the set up of the classroom as the days going on to adjust to student needs. I'm hoping to put up more visual displays throughout the year!

Above and below are two versions of art movement timelines with artists that I have made for my classroom. This was inspired from my mentor teacher, so I need to give her some credit where credit is due! She is an amazing mentor and I value every thing that she has taught me! Her classroom blog is called Paintbrush Rocket! Take a look!

I will be posting progress with our Golden Paint Brush Awards throughout the year! So far we have only had 3 days of art. Students can have a possible total of 15 points. (5 points a day! Check out the Golden Paint Brush Awards tab up top)

We will be focusing on the art elements (the building blocks!) and principles of art through the year!

Again, I have to give credit where credit is due. Above is a picture of what Keene Elementary strives to work towards every day. I found this art work unfinished in the art closet made by Ms. Gress from the 2013-2014 school year. I decided to finish the art work and hang it on the door so we can be reminded of these values every day.

For the first day of art I introduced myself to students and I introduced what a "Golden Classroom" looks like! Students have been excited to compete with one another for the golden paint brush awards!
